Session 1: Foundational Framework: Grounding Data, Approach, and Equity Framework
In this initial meeting, we will provide an overview of the Anti-Displacement Strategic Action Plan, including the foundational equity framework, grounding data, and guiding principles that underpin the City of Oakland’s approach. Your insights and expertise are crucial in refining our approach and clarifying our strategies, as this foundational work is the bedrock upon which all future efforts will be built.
Session 2: From Planning to Implementation
During our second meeting, we will build on the information shared in the first meeting and dive into anti-displacement implementation strategies. This discussion will focus on actionable steps and collaborative efforts needed to bring the plan to fruition. With resource constraints, we must make difficult choices and prioritize where our efforts will have the most impact. An action plan does not mean we will solve all challenges in the immediate future, but we committed to understanding how to allocate resources effectively. Through partnerships, we all are in a better position to advocate for the community’s needs and play a meaningful role in securing the necessary funding. The role of the City of Oakland is to facilitate productive and thoughtful communication and ensure that we progress towards solutions. Collaboration is integral, as we cannot achieve success alone.
HCD recognizes and deeply values the critical work that you and your organization are undertaking within the community, and your partnership is indispensable in crafting a successful and sustainable strategic action plan.
