Project Management

The mission of the Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) is to provide a citywide approach to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute a technology portfolio of initiatives and projects that are aligned with the City of Oakland strategic goals and vision.

Infrastructure and Operations

IT Operations is responsible for the smooth functioning of the infrastructure and operational environments that support application deployment to internal and external customers, including the network infrastructure; server and device management; computer operations. IT, infrastructure management (IM) oversees the voice communications, data network, radio & microwave communications, shop & field services for OPD/OFD communications, and 24/7 data center operations. This support includes installing radios and other communications equipment in OPD/OFD vehicles & aircraft, maintaining the City’s microwave towers and mountain-top radio antennas, and infrastructure for 9-1-1 dispatch centers.


Administration/Contracts and Budgeting

The Administration, and Contracts and Budgeting office fulfills the Department's purchasing, contracting, facility, and accounting. The Office provides internal support in areas such as strategic staffing and resource utilization, payroll needs, safety and risk management.
