Tax Breaks and Saving Money
There are several incentive programs in Oakland that can help
save money for businesses who operate and hire within certain areas, use
energy efficient equipment and more.
The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses of all sizes that want to expand in or relocate to California. The program considers factors such as the number of jobs created or retained and the proposed compensation. Applications for the first of three cycles this fiscal year are being accepted through August 20, 2018. The second and third cycles will be held in January 2019 and March 2019, respectively. Several Oakland businesses have participated in this tax credit program.
PG&E - Energy Efficiency Rebates & Incentives Businesses can get rebates, cash incentives and technical support by installing energy efficient equipment, lighting, and more. Programs available for existing properties and new construction. Learn more on the PG&E website.
