Ava Community Energy (formerly East Bay Community Energy) is Oakland's public electricity provider. The City of Oakland helped found Ava in 2016, and has been using Ava’s clean energy since 2018. All residential, municipal, and commercial accounts in Oakland are automatically enrolled in Ava’s Bright Choice service. Visit Ava's website to learn more about their services, governance, and the many resources they provide to help Oaklanders use energy more efficiently and switch from gas to clean electricity.

HEEHRA rebates are funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act, which is overseen by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by the California Energy Commission (CEC). HEEHRA rebates are only available through HEEHRA-trained, TECH Clean California-certified contractors. TECH Clean California contractors will provide project quotes, reserve incentive funds, perform installations, and guide you through the HEEHRA rebate process.
