By law, the public has a right to records relating to the report, investigation, or findings of an incident involving the discharge of a firearm at a person by an officer. This includes use of less lethal rounds when discharged by a firearm. These records are disclosable even when the officer's discharge is exonerated.

OPD requires that all police officer applicants pass a an oral exam. OPD offers workshops to help prepare applicants to succeed with this step in the process.
