The changing climate means Oakland residents can expect more excessive heat events. Excessive heat affects everyone differently and can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, such as heat stroke, heat exhaustion, and dehydration. Warmer temperatures create more pollen in the air, stronger airborne allergens, and more allergy symptoms. Certain populations such as the elderly, children, people with disabilities, and those living alone are at a higher risk during heat events.
Minor Excavation (x) Permits are required before excavating the public right-of-way., including but not limited to, Soil Boring, Monitoring Well Excavation, Potholing, or UGS Tank Excavation.

Owners are required to annually register their residential rental units' rent and tenancy information. The 2024 deadline to register rent and tenancy information is July 1, 2024. Starting in 2025: Owners must confirm and/or update their units’ registered tenancy information annually by March 1st.
