Immigrant Micro-Business Support Program

Technical assistance workshops and one-on-one support for Immigrant micro-businesses by The Unity Council and Feed the Hunger Fund, in partnership with The City of Oakland Economic and Workforce Development staff. Services provided in three languages -- Spanish, Mam, and Vietnamese.

Public Artist Training - Demystifying Public Art Webinars (2021)

In 2021, the Oakland Public Art Program staff and the Public Art Administrators Network of Northern CA (NorCal PAAN) launched a series of free webinars for artists to provide insight into the field of public art. The series was designed to demystify the field and open the door to a wide range of artists with diverse backgrounds and artistic expressions. Each virtual workshop featured presentations by three accomplished public artists and moderated by experienced public art administrators. Hosted on San Francisco Arts Commission's website.

Apply for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP)

A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) may be required for new activities, special site or design requirements, and some new facilities. A CUP is reviewed by the Bureau of Planning to analyze and, when necessary, impose special conditions of approval.

EEO-4 Reports

The State and Local Government Information Report (EEO-4), EEOC Form 164, also referred to as the EEO-4 Report, is a mandatory biennial data collection that requires all State and local governments with 100 or more employees to submit demographic workforce data. The report provides a summary of the City of Oakland's workforce composition by agency function, job category, salary, race/ethnicity, and gender - data that are relevant to the Federal government's furtherance of EEO practices and help jurisdictions to benchmark and evaluate internal programs. The filing by eligible State and local governments is required under section 709(c) of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 2000e-8(c), 29 CFR 1602.30 and .32-.37.

Cannabis Projects - CEQA Notices of Exemption (NOE)

The following cannabis projects have been permitted to operate in the City of Oakland at the discretion of the City Administrator under Chapter 5.8.1 of the Oakland Municipal Code. The Planning & Building Department has deemed their environmental impact to be minimal enough to qualify for an exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Police Area 6

Area 6 (Beats 31 - 35) is commanded by Acting Captain Casey Johnson. Area 6 is the area traditionally known as East Oakland. It is bordered by Area 5 to the west and the City of San Leandro to the east. The Area is home to the Coliseum Complex and the Oakland International Airport.
