Where to File Campaign Statements

Elected officials, candidates and committees required to file campaign statements and reports mandated by the City of Oakland and California‘s Political Reform Act must do so with the Public Ethics Commission through the City of Oakland Electronic Filing System. Use the Filer Access Portal to create electronic campaign statements.

When to File Campaign Statements

The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) sets filing deadlines for each election. Visit the FPPC website to find out when your committee is required to file statements for your election.​

Public Servants identified in the City's Conflict of Interest Code are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interest, also known as the Form 700. The Form 700 provides transparency and ensures accountability of Public Servants in decision-making processes.

Whistleblower Ordinance

In September 2008, the Oakland City Council passed the Whistleblower Protection Ordinance to protect Oaklanders who come forward to report waste, abuse or fraud in Oakland.
