How do I remove the boot from my vehicle?
Do not try to drive your vehicle. Driving a booted vehicle can cause severe damage to your car or truck.
By Phone- Pay with Credit Card or Debit Card
- You can make payments using credit card or debit card by calling the telephone number located on the sticker attached to your vehicle. The sticker has instructions in English, Chinese, and Spanish.
- After you pay, you will get a six-digit code which you can enter into the boot to remove the boot without causing damage to your vehicle.
- In most cases, you will be able to drive your vehicle in about 2-3 hours.
- Return the boot to the Parking Citation Assistance Center at the address below within 24 hours to avoid a $25 late fee.
In Person- Pay with Cash Only, Reduced Hours due to COVID-19
- Visit the Parking Citation Assistance Center at the address below 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday except Holidays.
- Pay with cash only.
- After you pay, the Parking Citation Assistance Center will call and have your vehicle released.
- In most cases, you will be able to drive your vehicle in about 2-3 hours.
- Return the boot to the Parking Citation Assistance Center at the address below within 24 hours to avoid a $25 late fee.
Parking Citation Assistance Center Address- Reduced Hours due to COVID-19
The Parking Citation Assistance Center is located in the same plaza as Oakland City Hall. The address is:

For the safety of customers and staff, face coverings are required to be worn at all times while in the building and temperature will be checked. You will be denied service if you are not wearing your face covering. Only customers will be allowed in the Parking Citation Assistance Center office with the exception that minor children may accompany their caregivers.
