Mary Olsen

Mary Olsen serves as the Mayor’s Constituent Liaison, triaging phone calls and helping Oaklanders navigate City government. She embraced California after growing up in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York. After raising kids in the suburbs she retired to Point Reyes where she managed the Chefs Booth at the Farmers Market, wrote for the local newspaper, and foraged for mushrooms. Newly urbanized, Mary is enjoying her community garden plot, learning the public transit systems, exploring parks and hiking trails and loving Oakland’s marvelous restaurants.

Mary holds a BA in sociology from Ohio’s Antioch Collge.
