Melanie Newcomb

Melanie Newcomb (She/Her/Hers) joined the Public Ethics Commission as Commission Assistant in March 2024. She serves as point of contact for general Public Ethics Commission inquiries and provides administrative and organizational support to the PEC. Previously, she worked in administrative and operations roles for several local, Oakland non-profits, and, prior to that, acted as a paralegal in multiple Bay Area Family Law offices. In addition to assisting the Commission, she helps transgender individuals update their identification paperwork and speaks with nursing students on transgender issues in healthcare.

Ms. Newcomb holds a B.S. in Physiological Sciences from the University of California, Los Angeles.
