Rabab "Bobby" Zaidi (he/him) joined the Public Ethics Commission in August 2024 after having been a planner with the City of Austin's Watershed Protection Department where he led the Rain to River Community Ambassador program, a pilot bilingual initiative to hear about lived experiences from directly impacted Austin residents. Bobby leads outreach and engagement planning for the launch of Oakland's new Democracy Dollars Program, a public campaign financing program approved by Oakland residents through ballot Measure W in 2022. Bobby is fluent in Urdu and Hindi and is passionate about advancing racial equity for the communities that he is a part of.
He holds a B.A. in English with an Arabic minor from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Bay Area local.
