On Monday, January 20, the City of Oakland celebrated its 23rd Annual MLK Day of Service! Hundreds of volunteers participated in this day of community service, education, and action. Volunteers organized neighborhood clean-ups, beautification projects, and a variety of other service events.
Over 45 environmental-focused projects took place across Oakland, led by community members and residents. A heartfelt thank you to all the dedicated volunteers who generously gave their time and effort to make this day a success. Your commitment to improving our city is truly inspiring. We also extend our gratitude to the site coordinators who expertly led each project and ensured everything ran smoothly. Your leadership and hard work helped create lasting, positive change in our community. Together, we continue to honor Dr. King's legacy through service and unity
Oaklanders can also recognize the holiday by engaging in MLK 40 Days of Service at Home Actions, from January 15 to February 24, 2025! Scroll down to learn more.
