The division is organized into five operating units. Each unit works towards accomplishing an aspect of the division’s overarching responsibilities and goals. These units include:
Improving access to Lake Merritt through the installment of new meters
Addressing Chinatown's parking and mobility challenges by improving parking and loading
Improving parking availability in Montclair by adjusting meter rates according to demand
Planning for a clean and equitable transportation system in Oakland
Providing Oaklanders with funding for transportation through prepaid debit cards
Reducing barriers to shared mobility services for low-income and minority communities
The City's Demand Responsive Parking and Mobility Management Initiative
A collaborative project toward a progressive parking system
Oakland's parking payment system

The Parking and Mobility Division manages all parking and curb space in the city. This is overseen by our enforcement and citation processing efforts. The Division also seeks to improve the City's mobility choices. These projects include car sharing, bike sharing, and transit pass programs. Through our work, we aim to make Oakland's transportation experience better for everyone.
