The City of Oakland is committed to becoming a more sustainable city – a community in which all people have the opportunity to pursue safe, happy, healthy and fulfilling lives, now and into the future. Protecting a clean and healthy natural environment; growing a strong local economy brimming with opportunity; and fostering a safe, equitable and vibrant community are all critical components of this vision. Oakland’s 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan (ECAP) details the City’s pathway to decarbonize our buildings and transportation, strengthen our local economy, and empower a community resilient against climate change.

Measure B, BB, and Vehicle Registration Funds

The Alameda County Transportation Commission (ACTC) administers local funding sources for numerous transportation projects through the Measure B, Measure BB, and Vehicle Registration Fee (VRF) funding programs.

Oakland Digital Services

We're a small, mostly part-time team of designers, content strategists, and developers. We work with City staff to improve digital services for the public.

Homelessness & the Affordability Crisis

Cities all along the West Coast are facing a homelessness crisis. Oakland is solving it in a unique way by bringing stakeholders to end homelessness. 

The Oakland Promise

The Oakland Promise is an initiative launched by Mayor Schaaf and the Oakland Unified School District in 2016 that aims to triple the number of Oakland high school graduates who are complete college by the year 2024.
