If your event does not qualify as a special event but would like to close a street to vehicular traffic (e.g. for a block party) you will need to apply for a short term encroachment permit.
There are three (3) ordinances and (1) resolution that empower the Privacy Advisory Commission
Please note, your application will still be accepted if it is not submitted before the deadline but if all documents are not submitted as required, your application may not be processed in time for the event.
The Oakland City Council supports Oakland-based nonprofits and community-based organizations that provide direct services or programs to Oakland Residents and are working to advance the City's racial equity goals.
Oakland is committed to transparency and providing the public with access to Oakland Police records under SB 1421 & SB 16 (Penal Code § 832.7(b)).
