In Fiscal Year 2019-20 staff serviced 59,215 Illegal Dumping work orders, which accounted for 55,236 cubic yards of debris being removed from neighborhoods. This is enough debris to fill a football field (100 yards long x 53.5 yards wide) 9.47 feet high or stretch 3.48 miles long at a height of 3 feet.
In Fiscal Year 2019-20 the Graffiti Abatement program abated 530,124 square feet of graffiti from public property. With these efforts the White House could have been painted approximately 10 times.
In Fiscal Year 2019-20 the Vegetation Management staff removed 7,534,095 square feet of vegetation from the right-of-way, which helped to reduce the fuel load.
In 2019 the Street Sweeping program removed 5,355.30 tons of debris from the roadway that might have entered the bay through waterways.

OAK WiFi provides free internet to Oaklanders to help close the digital divide.
The Capital Contracts Division (CCD) provides contract services for two departments: the Public Works Department (OPW) and the Department of Transportation (OakDOT). Our contracts are only for capital improvement projects, which are projects that improve the infrastructure of City property. These projects are approved by the City Council during the two year budget cycle.
