Tours of the Dunsmuir Hellman Historical Mansion are no longer available.

CID Ad Hoc Committee

The objective of this Ad Hoc is to review and support public awareness and input into OPD’s revised Policies and Procedures manual for the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division; Homicide Section (19-01). The Department presented this draft for Commission review and action at the November 18, 2021 Special Meeting.

Mosswood Recreation Center

An expansive green space at the edge of downtown Oakland, Mosswood Park is an iconic Oakland institution rich with history and culture. Mosswood Park combines the names of 19th century Oaklanders J. Mora Moss and Julia Wood, whose 1864 Carpenter Gothic style Victorian mansion still stands at the center of the site. The former Mosswood estate became a public park between 1909 and 1911, thereafter hosting pre-NBA basketball players on its courts, important cultural events on its grounds and everyday Oaklanders throughout the years.

The OakDOT Crossing Guard Program

Crossing Guards are an important school and community resource for safety. The Oakland Department of Transportation Crossing Guard program (formerly managed by the Oakland Police Department until early 2021) is comprised of part-time employees under the supervision of the School Traffic Safety Supervisor in the Safe Streets Division of OakDOT.

After School Arts Academy

When school is out, art is in! daily snack, homework help and 2 art classes/day in a range of mediums including painting, drawing, clay, dancing, drumming, singing, and more. Pickup from Emerson, all other schools must be dropped off by parents. <br><b>Program Dates: August 23, 2024 - May 23, 2025, No after-school program on days when OUSD is not in school</b> <br>$30/day charged Monthly based on the number of school days for each month, from after school until 6:00pm (No adjustments made for days students do not attend)
