Measure DD: Creek and Waterway Restoration

With Measure DD's focus on water quality, projects have included restoration of selected Oakland creeks and acquisition of critical watersheds. Locations are detailed below.

Risk Management Policy Ad Hoc

The Risk Management Ad Hoc was established to bring to the Oakland Police Commission for adoption a Risk Management policy that will contain guidelines regarding risk behavior to help the Oakland Police mitigate and reduce risk to individual officers and the City of Oakland.

Lake Merritt Interpretive Signs

This Measure DD project includes six interpretive sign panels. The purpose of these signs is to connect people to the place and the wildlife that live at Lake Merritt and encourage stewardship. The six panels feature information on the Lake Merritt watershed, wildlife refuge history, birds of Lake Merritt, wildlife habitat, rain gardens, and the tidal lagoon ecosystem. The sign panels, measuring six feet wide by two feet tall, are scheduled for installation at the locations on the map below the week of May 15, 2023. 2023 - 2031 Housing Element Update

The Housing Element is a part of Oakland’s General Plan. It is a guide for providing housing for people in the City, including those with low income or special needs.

Personal Emergency Preparedness Classes [PEP]

Self reliance is key. Learn how to identify and anticipate hazards, reduce hazards in the home and workplace, and apply basic lifesaving medical techniques to better support yourself, your immediate family, and your home. This training is great for individuals who just need basic information and general awareness for themselves.

Social Media Policy Ad Hoc

The objective of this Ad Hoc is to review the protocols and policies related to the Department’s use of social media platforms and personal messaging, on- and off-duty. This Ad Hoc will propose a new social media policy for implementation by the Oakland Police Department.
