Youth: Looking for a Summer Job?

The Oakland Workforce Development Board (OWDB) funds and supports a variety of programs that provide training, mentoring and educational enrichment to Oakland youth ages 16 to 21.

High Quality of Life

Oakland's stunning bay views, parklands, open spaces, great weather, rich cultural scene and proximity to the Pacific Ocean make it one of the most beautiful urban areas in the nation and a desirable place to live and work.

Adult Employment and Training

The Workforce Development Board's partners operate America's Job Centers of California (AJCCs) to help Oakland adults find their next job.

Health and Wellness Industry Sector

The healthcare sector employees more than 35,000 people in Oakland and contributes more than $2 billion to Oakland's Gross Regional Product. It is the city's largest sector by number of employees and is expected to have signficant job growth through 2021. In fact, Oakland is expected to lead the East Bay in healthcare job growth.

Services for Homebuyers

Homeownership programs are designed to expand opportunities for prospective Oakland homebuyers through education, financial assistance, and resource referral.

Loan Servicing

The Loan Servicing Unit in the Fiscal and Administrative Services division of Housing and Community Development is tasked with servicing loans provided under our First Time Homebuyer Programs, Housing Rehabilitation Programs, Housing and Community Development Projects, and other Housing related loans provided by the City of Oakland.
