Welcome to the City of Oakland’s Municipal Election page. This is your resource for accessing information on City of Oakland voting, candidates, ballot measures as well as other election-related services for the City of Oakland. **Please note -Oakland Unified School District Ballot Measures are filed directly with the Alameda County Registrar of Voters; visit the Registrar's website at https://www.acgov.org/rov_app/measures for information on OUSD Ballot Measures.

Athletic Fields

We operate 66 sports fields ranging from football to soccer with turf or real grass.

Aquatics

The City offers safe, fun and affordable swimming programs for residents.

Youth Competitive Swim Team

The youth recreational swim team program (6-18 years) serves as an introduction to competitive swimming. The program emphasizes sportsmanship and the joy of the sport while maintaining an environment of cooperation, discipline, community and team spirit.

Lake Merritt Boating Center

Boating programs are offered at Lake Merritt and the Oakland Estuary. Youth and community programs provide an entry point to gain skills to explore the wonders of Bay Area boating. You can host special events at Lake Merritt Sailboat House which is located about Lake Merritt Boating Center.

Adult Sailing and Boating

The Lake Merritt Boating Center will be offering Adult Sailing programs beginning September 2024.

Youth Summer Boating and Sailing

Registration for Summer Boating Programs opened February 20th for Oakland Residents. Registration for Non-Oakland residents open March 5th. Happy Boating!!!

Boat Rentals at Lake Merritt

The Lake Merritt Boating Center will be closed for both upcoming "Labor Day" & "Admission Day" holidays (September 2nd & 9th)...

Camps

Our camps teach youth the wonders of the great outdoors and respect for nature. Our activities help youth make new friends, build their problem-solving skills, and develop self confidence and independence. We have programs for kids age 3 years and older.

Community Gardens

Our community gardens enable residents to grow organic flowers, fruits, vegetables and herbs. You can volunteer in one of our gardens. We also offer rental plots. We offer youth gardening through schools, nonprofits and our recreation centers.
