Tejal Shah

Commissioner Shah is a resident of District 7 for the last two years, and an Oakland resident for 12 years. Her experience in social services and work in the non-profit world has led her to value the voices of under-represented communities. She has volunteered to serve on the Redistricting Commission to ensure that Oakland residents are not only heard, but lead the way to change. Shah loves the diversity of people and places in Oakland, and spends her free time exploring new neighborhoods and visiting the city’s many green spaces.
