Vince Steele is a policy analyst for Alameda County, Board of Supervisors and passionate community organizer. He spent many years with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) as an internal organizer and chief contract negotiator. Vince was instrumental in winning major victories for working class communities such as “Fight for $15” which raised the minimum wage in Los Angeles.
Vince’s passion for grassroots organizing and politics brought him to the Bay Area where he served as Organizing and Political Director at two non-profits, focusing on criminal justice reform and education equity (respectively). Vince led campaign strategy for Measure S in Oakland, providing voting access to non citizen residents in school board elections.
Vince was a NLC-Oakland fellow and Eastbay Stonewall Democratic Club Board member. Vince holds a M.P.A from UC Berkeley, Goldman School of Public Policy.
